How we make a difference
Any type of hearing impairment can dramatically upend your life. It is very common for people who have trouble hearing to isolate themselves and begin feeling depressed. That’s why early intervention is so important, and also why it’s never too late to do something about your hearing loss.
We want to end the stigma associated with hearing loss. It’s no less common than losing your ability to see clearly, but there is no shame or embarrassment associated with wearing glasses. It can take a while for people to admit to themselves that they need help, and we are ready and waiting to make your hearing care journey one of comfort and empathy.
We also realize that people may hold themselves back from seeking help for a variety of reasons. That’s why our clinics offer a number of benefits to our clients to improve their well-being. Learn more about why you should choose McNeill Audiology for your hearing health care.

MEET OUR STAFF:
Chelsea Burge M.Sc., Aud., Registered Audiologist
Chelsea Burdge completed her B.Sc. at UVic in the combined Biology and Psychology program in 2010. When she shadowed an audiologist and witnessed the emotions of a client being fit with hearing aids for the first time, she realized that audiology is the perfect combination of working hands-on with amazing technology while also helping people with their health.
Chelsea completed one of her clinical practicums with us while attending UBC’s Master of Audiology program. After completion of her degree at UBC, she spent 8 months on contract with the Government of Nunavut, providing audiological services to patients of all ages in 12 communities in the Baffin Island region. Chelsea and her husband are happy to be home in Victoria where they can do their favourite activities year-round, including boating, fishing, and camping. She also enjoys running, snowboarding, and working in her garden.
Chelsea feels passionate about providing the best possible service to people with hearing loss, and we are thrilled to have her join the McNeill Audiology team. She looks forward to meeting you!
Joanne McDonald (Sidney) Registered Hearing Instrument Practitioner
Joanne graduated from the University of Victoria in 2002 with a degree biology. During her studies, she became interested in hearing health care because it combined her love of science and her desire to work with people. She has been practicing as a registered Hearing Instrument Practitioner since 2007. She finds it very rewarding to work with top of line hearing aid technology in order to help her clients live their life to their full potential. She wishes everyone with hearing loss could know how hearing aids will allow them to reconnect with their loved ones and the world around them.
Joanne has lived in beautiful Sidney by the Sea for over 12 years. Her favorite pastimes are travel, bird watching and exploring beautiful Vancouver Island.
She also loves attending live music concerts and cuddling with her dogs.
Hannah Olmstead (Oak Bay) Registered Hearing Instrument Practitioner
Hannah earned her certificate from the College of Speech and Hearing Health Professionals in BC. Hannah has been in the industry for over four years as she started as a client care coordinator and then continued to work while she completed her education with McEwan University.
Before she started in the hearing industry, she was a manager of an Easyhome for 10 years where she gained lots of experience working with customers. Hannah moved to the Island this summer from Mission, BC with her husband; creating a new life for them in Victoria.
